Seggiano

The village of Seggiano originated at the beginning of the tenth century as a domain of the Abbey of San Salvatore al Monte Amiata, sold partly thousand years after the Abbey of Sant'Antimo. The domination of the people of Siena began in the second half of the thirteenth century, during which they were heavily influenced by families of Salimbeni throughout the fourteenth century, while the fifteenth took over the Ugurgeri. The territory was included in the Republic of Siena until 1555 up to join the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
